Stereoscopic 3D is basically creating depth from an image by offsetting the images to the left and right eye of the viewer. If the settings are properly done, it will create the 3d illusion of depth.
At Interstellar Design, we can create the stereoscopic 3D effect by using anaglyph images. If you have ever worn the 3D glasses the red and cyan lenses, you have seen anaglyph 3D. The reason we use anaglyph 3D is that it is the most common and easiest to create. In addition, it is a lot less expensive compared to other versions.
Static 3D and Animated 3D
We can create two types of anaglyph 3D from your images. They can either be stagnant or animated.- Stagnant Anaglyph 3D
Stagnant Anaglyph 3D is basically what the name states. It is 3D that does not move. You still get the depth effect created by the 3D, but no animation. You can see this effect with the 3D banner at the top and the example below (you need the red and cyan 3D glasses to see the effect):
- Animated Anaglyph 3D
Animated Anaglyph 3D contains motion. This can be created with models or images. The depth effect is created by placing each image on a layer and moving them in 3D space. You can see this in the example below by clicking the play button (you need the red and cyan 3D glasses to see the effect):
